  July 3, 2026, Professor Hongyu Liu from the City University of Hong Kong, was invited to give a talk. The title is "Inverse problems from collective dynamics: theory, methods and applications". For more information, see the poster.
  Hongyu Liu is a Chair Professor in the Department of Mathematics at City University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on inverse problems and imaging, partial differential equations, mathematical physics, scattering and spectral theory, mathematical biology, and game theory. His honors include the Calderón Prize from the Inverse Problems International Association and the Changjiang Chair Professorship from Ministry of Education. He has been named a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics and ranks among the top 2% of most-cited scientists worldwide. He is a Fellow of both the UK's Institute of Physics (IOP) and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA). He is also a founding Editor-in-Chief of Communications on Analysis and Computation and currently serves as President of the Hong Kong Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (HKSIAM).
