April 3, 2026, Hao Zhang, a recent PhD from the University of Glasgow, was invited to give a talk. The title is "Local Forms for the Double An Quiver and Curve Counting on cAn Singularities". For more information, see the poster.
Hao Zhang recently completed his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Glasgow, under the supervision of Professor Michael Wemyss. His research interests are in algebraic geometry and noncommutative birational geometry, especially the use of noncommutative algebraic methods to study threefold singularities and birational geometry. He works on topics including contraction algebras, Gopakumar-Vafa invariants, crepant resolutions, and their interactions with representation theory. His recent work includes the classification of crepant resolutions of cA_n singularities, local forms for the double A_n quiver, and GV invariants associated with crepant partial resolutions.
