November 28, 2025, Professor Xiaoqiang Zhao from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada, was invited to give a talk. The title is " Propagation Dynamics of Reaction and Diffusion Equations in a Time-heterogeneous Shifting Environment". For more information, see the poster.
Xiaoqiang Zhao is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, and a recipient of the university’s University Research Professorship. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics from Northwest University in 1983 and 1986, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1990. Professor Zhao has long been engaged in research in dynamical systems, differential equations, and mathematical biology. His influential contributions to monotone dynamical systems, uniform persistence, traveling waves and asymptotic spreading speeds, principal eigenvalues, and the basic reproduction number have been widely recognized and cited by peers. To date, he has published more than 180 research papers in leading international journals, including Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Journal of the European Mathematical Society, Journal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik, Journal de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées, Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, and SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis. He is also the author of the monograph Dynamical Systems in Population Biology, published by Springer. For more information, please visit his homepage: https://www.math.mun.ca/~zhao/
