Michael Röckner is a Professor at Bielefeld University in Germany, and a member of the Academia Europaea and the Romanian Academy. He was selected for the Thousand Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has served as President of the German Mathematical Society, member of the review panels of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and Chair of the Mathematics Panel of the European Research Council (ERC) for Frontier Research Grants. He has received numerous international awards in mathematics and science, including the Max Planck Research Prize, the Sir Edmund Whittaker Memorial Prize, and the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize.
