Alfred Geroldinger is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Graz and a leading member of the Institute of Mathematics and Scientific Computing. He received his Ph.D. in 1987 under the supervision of Franz Halter-Koch. His research interests lie in commutative algebra, ring theory, and the arithmetic of semigroups, with particular emphasis on factorization theory and Krull monoids. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals and authored three research monographs with Chapman & Hall/CRC. His work has been widely cited and has shaped the development of factorization theory, especially its applications to algebraic number theory and combinatorics. He is recognized as one of the leading figures in the field.
